As the participation in the SIL Security Watch (SSW) continues to grow, the magnitude of the global attacks becomes more evident. The sharp rise in both incursion counts and the cost of those incursions is a frightening inhibition to a growing economy. New forms of attacks continue to surface every day, with SSW participants receiving updated threat intel on a more frequent basis than every before.
One of the most disturbing trends is that hackers are focusing on smaller organizations for "quick" benefit. Ransomware and other "pay-me-or-else" incursions are showing a growth of more than 8% a month.
